Look at what a 308 round does to a piece of pork. You get hit with that, you're going down whether or not it hits your plate.

That pork shoulder is the size of a typical human thigh. If that happens to your leg, you are going to bleed out in minutes. That is a fatal wound.
Oh for sure; I totally get it. Plates are only to cover - just barely - your vital organs.
