Not as big as in these pictures, but you can clearly see each platelet and the flatter bit in the middle of the ring.
I managed to fix the old led light that shines underneath, as I got close to perfect focus the middle of the platelets was glowing blue, I'm assuming it's some kind of refractive aspect of the led. Either that or I've got alien blood :)
What I found most difficult was looking through the floaters in my eye that were highlighted by looking through the lens.
Bahahahaha!! I had forgotten about that part of my old school science classes! Eye floaters were always an issue. Adult me would totally panic thinking I have worms in my blood! I'm going to dig out my kids' microscopes and see what magnifications we have. I am very curious to test this out myself and I hope you will report back (& that I don't miss it) when you get a Vaxxed sample!
I need to be very careful how I approach the subject, I have to avoid any scary stuff about the vax, so I need another pretext to get her to agree, we'll see.
I bought myself a microscope the other day and checked out my own blood, perfectly normal.
I'm planning on asking my mother to provide a smaple (she's been vaxed) so I can see for myself.
I like this idea, can we see this type of detail with a regular old school microscope or did you get something higher powered?
The scope I bought goes up to 1200x.
