Just thought I'd start a post here. In the event of comms blackout, what are some ways to stay in touch with other Patriots? There are probably some folks with access to radio broadcast equipment, folks with CBs, and folks without radio license but own FRS walkie talkies that can reach 1-3 mile radius.
For me, I have an FRS walkie talkie maybe we can agree on a channel to listen to for others ? Say 1-7 (channel 1, ctcss 7)
HAM radio. Learn Morse Code. And, last but not least LoRa communication. Check out this guys super nerd video series on LoRA. 200km range!!! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=RDCMUCu7_D0o48KbfhpEohoP7YSQ&playnext=1

Ok. I am still laughing! 😂
Lol
Valid question, and I updooted. But just remember, if the patriots take down communications, all you'll be expected to do for the duration is stay out of the way, and stay safe, until communications resume.
So when the storm arrives, and the lines (presumably) go down, stay alert, stay prepared, don't get too drunk... but unless you know in advance exactly what you'll need to be doing, consider kicking back with frens and family, break out the popcorn and beer, shoot off your remaining fireworks, and get ready to take back this country once the head demons have been decapitated and the truth restored.
This is a good point and thanks again for the reminder.
YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY SATURDAY AT 9AM! I'm not joking
Ham radio vhf (2m) and uhf (70 cm) is very good for local communication, and has range out to 100 km if one or both of the people is up high - such as on a mountain top. FRS would work similarly to ham uhf but it has lower power and crappy antennas thus less inherent range.
HF is good for local and out to 1000's of km at night. No need to learn morse as SSB (sideband) works well.
well....a thought....if Patriots can 'hear each other this way.....can't the 'enemy' as well?
Of course, so they would have to use encryption - such as One Time Pads (OTP). The other issue would be that the transmitter sites could be located using triangulation.
I live on the side of a mountain, any Ham fags that could help me figure out the best radio to get??
It depends on what you want to do. Spend a few hours checking out Ham Radio Crash Course on YouTube
2 cans and a string actually works you know.
