1 God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the “gods”: 2 “How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? 3 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. 5 “The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. 6 “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’ 7 But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler.” 8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance.
Study Note:
82:6 This psalm calls the rulers and judges of Israel "gods" and "sons of the Most High." They were called gods because they represented God in executing judgment. John 10:34-36 records Jesus using this passage to defend his claims to be God. His argument was as follows: if God would call mere mens "gods", why is it blasphemous for him, the true Son of God, to declare himself equal with God?
Judgment is scary. It is especially frightening if a judge is corrupt or unfair or making decisions based on deceptions. But God is fair and just and allknowing and true. And, he is loving and merciful There is no better judge than God. The Bible tells us over and over to not fear, and yet we do. I try to be fearless, except I do fear Almighty God. I revere him and his power over all. It is really great that His Son, my Savior, is my advocate when that day comes.
Lord, thank you for your everlasting love and kindness Have mercy on us and help us follow your guidance. Remove the deceptions that plague our decisionmaking. Help us see what is true clearly so that we can make wise choices. Let us be kind to one another Let us help each other as you taught us to do. Please, Lord, save my nation that I love, according to your will. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, I pray. Amen.

Have a blessed day.
Late to the party. Since you brought up John 10:34, you may find this article interesting.

Very interesting article. I am not a Bible scholar, I am only a searcher of truth. I love to watch how God works. My favorite chapter of the Bible is John 14. It would be interesting to understand how it fits in this discussion, because Jesus talks about making his home with me.
And then,
My own understanding is that God is both Allknowing and omnipresent. So, I find it easy to believe John 14.
