I went to buy some beers at the gas station. I wear my mask, but I make a point to put it on well after I enter the store, and I take it off immediately after the transaction is complete. In the mean-time, I'm an under-nose kind of guy.
I completed my purchase, and the next man had no mask.
The clerk began with "sir, do you have a mask?"
I stood there and argued with the clerk.
"He doesn't want to wear one."
"Just take his money, and he'll be gone"
"Well sir, my manager says-"
"Were is you manager? Bring him out, let us talk to him"
*nothing, no manager"
"Just take his money, and he'll be gone."
She completes the transaction, and people in line say "Hey, I'm with you" but when I say "take off your masks", they chicken out.
Bit by bit, we will win. I promise you!
Be nice. Wearing a face mask is not a victory. It's accepting servitude. And that is precisely what the mask is. This is no the place to be emotional. Stand up. Do not comply. I have walked this line before and been booted from 3 stores. Each time I took names and contact information for their legal department and then sent them a complaint letter with a Cease and Desist demand. The entire package was 30+ pages of State Laws and Federal Code showing their unlawful acts. This package also included OSHA regulations they are in violation of. They were given 10 days to respond or we would have to take further action. Each time these stores 'lawyered-up and provided several pages of BS for a response. If you read them, you would see they were rattled and couldn't intelligently respond. The cost to the businesses were thousands of dollars in lawyer fees. All of this, especially for one place refusing to sell me a 16 dollar bottle of wine was hilarious. Having to research and respond to the laws I included, paying someone to type it and mail it cost them more than it is worth it.
