We need much better privacy laws to stop this from happening.
We need much better vote integrity laws to prevent systems like this from interfering with elections.
We really need to return to paper ballots and analog systems of record keeping.
Technically it is hard to explain, yes. But so is a computer, and people know how to use that. So don't explain how the computer works, you just say what you can do with it. With a blockchain, election results are instant, secure, accurate, publicly searchable, and can't be faked. That's the truth and it's all you really need to say.
Paper ballots are much better, easier, cheaper and understandable, the average Joe and Judy Blow will go for that anyday.
I know some of you have a blockchain boner on, but given whats coming out now nobody will trust any computerised voting system again.
The UK and Russian civil services use nothing but paper to talk to other departments about sensitive issues, they will never use computers again for this.
