This interview I believe was from 2019. However, it aligns with his comments in March on 60 minutes where he stated that masks "might block a droplet or two or might make people feel better" but that "people should not be walking around with masks on"
So the main reason for not wearing them was because it could provide a shortage for the people that really need them? Is any one of these interviews showing that masks don't help slow the spread?.. because that's why we were told to wear them right? To slow the spread?... but it sounds like Fauci is saying they may help catch droplets but they won't do anything for covid specifically?
Initially that was the reasoning, but I also believe that Fauci was just being truthful. They'll block smaller droplets, but unless you have a properly fitted KN95 mask and you're only wearing it for a short amount of time, you're essentially participating in medical theater.
I think just months later, after this interview, Fauci was proposing people wear double masks. What a joke
