Where in U.S. law does it allow for private businesses to be fined... for their failure to enforce government policies that aren't law?
Answer: It doesn't.
There is NO mechanism at all in U.S. law for arbitrarily fining a private business for not enforcing a CDC guideline or a Presidential Order... let alone setting that arbitrary amount of the fine so high.
What would stop Biden from fining a company $1 Billion instead? or $1 Trillion?
What would stop them from fining a company next that allows employees to wear a MAGA hat... or that allows employees to smoke on company property? Why not fine companies that still use plastic straws and disposable foam plates?
