I have been using Gmail forever and would like to move to something less Google-ey. What providers do you guys use, or prefer? Is ProtonMail good?

Change from windows to linux.
change from stock android to Calyxos or Lineage.
remove all google connected services.
MicroG may be a public solution. For privacy and anonymity: VPN + learn how to use loki.

Tutanota indeed is one of the best, if not the best solution for privacy email.
