What could they have to gain?

I think it’s not so much about what they have to gain, but about what they have to lose.

The west has been effectively controlled for a century now by an efficient propaganda machine. Public sentiment has been directed and manipulated wherever it needed to go via MSM, including the film and music industries. Trump was a signal that the system of control was beginning to falter.
He called out fake news repeatedly. Many dismissed it as him sowing discord in order to gain power. But over the last 5 years, the mechanics of how the MSM controls mass public action has been increasingly understood by ever growing numbers of people, and more and more people are questioning just who it is who is directing things and why.

The old mechanism of control is faltering. I think this is why there is now a desperate push to bring in digital passports, and to use any and all means necessary to do it. In the same way that China had to come up with a new system of control once its propaganda machine was recognised for what it was, those who are used to directing affairs in the west now face the same issue. This is why they are so desperately and egregiously censoring – if they don’t get the new system of control in place quickly enough, when the propaganda machine fails completely – something that is not far away as the less questioning older generation rapidly dies off – the people will become ungovernable. In the sense that it will no longer be possible to manipulate them easily en masse.

Faced with ungovernable billions, mass depopulation starts to look like a necessity. And so does a new mechanism of more obvious control that can take the place of last century’s propaganda machine.
