Wiki says about a white squall that it’s a wave/wind storm not accompanied by the usual DARK clouds. Also, white squalls are not usually a sea storm. They happen often on the Great Lakes, in North America...

and maybe if it doesn't have the 'dark' clouds, it's a 'light' storm;
sweeping over the country to protect the red wave...
