Go back and watch those videos - they look like great trailers for a horror movie. Scripted, and fake as hell, but totally attention grabbing.
After the seed is planted in the public's mind, use the media to reinforce its legitimacy. Hysteria ensues.
This was done once before, by accident. It happened with the War of the Worlds radio broadcast. Now the same effect is being weaponized by our enemies and used against us.
That leaves us with the final question: who are our enemies? We're inclined to jump on China (and we would be correct) - but that is likely half of the story.
I sometimes feel like the war of the worlds broadcast was no accident. More like a test of some sort.
