You may have a point to consider if he had a patent sale that gave him at least some money and would explain why he did not worry so much about going forward and losing his pension. But, we still don't know for sure. If true however, It does put a whole new light on his motives. People need to do more background checks on causes they throw their money at. Thanks again.
