Plane catches fire while landing at East Midlands airport
East Midlands, UK.
I haven't followed plane activity much in the past, but I don't ever remember them falling out of the sky / having birds fly in the engines / spontaneously combusting etc in quite such high numbers as recently.
This time of year with the migration of birds it happens quite often. Intake of a large bird will flame out most engines if not totally destroy them, it depends on how much damage to the fan clades.
Saying all that, who really knows?
Yes, I think you are likely right, they just caught my attention back to back in a newsfeed. Thanks fren!
