Cherry picking and confirmation bias. Either you go 10 + 4 +21 or you go 1 + 0 + 4 + 2 + 1. Neither gives 17.

If you take 17 and subtract 4, then you add 2 twice you get 17.

Even crazier is that 2 twice (or 2x2) is EQUAL to 4! Spooky!
