It's happening in the UK too.

I live in a rural farming area, and the one hotel has just had all the regular bookings cancelled in favour of a government contract to house Afghan refugees.

I have no idea what it is going to do to the local community, they will instantly become the largest single 'group' for a 20 mile radius.
