I grew up in a legalistic church that taught that stuff as well. It’s time to let go of legalism - God will be dealing with all that stuff soon. It’s time to separate the wheat from the chafe in the church and become united in Him so all spiritual gifts can be strengthened (male and female) and utilized in the coming end times.
