A hardware wallet with a unique 24 word seed phrase written across several pieces of paper and kept in separate lock boxes in separate locations is the way to go. Better yet... memorize that shit and burn the paper it was on. Never digitize the phrase in any way.

Also be wary of strange coins popping up in your wallet. Don't touch them or interact with the. Hackers can use these interactions to gain control of your wallet and drain your assets.
