For you and others who post old news I would say this:

It's best to leave a comment saying so and why you think it's relevant. Just to avoid these confrontational comments from pedes who actually read articles and check dates etc. Nothing wrong with bringing up old stuff if it's relevant to current happenings. There are quite a few posts that get a ton of attention and most of the people in the comments talk about it like it's new stuff because they don't have the same eye for detail.
