What doesn’t make sense to me about this is the whole cancelling debt thing. So if someone bought a bunch of jet skis and big screen TVs and a college education on credit card, they are just going to have their debt cancelled and get to keep all that stuff? What about the person who didn’t buy the jet skis or the big screen TVs but instead were responsible and paid back their debts, or didn’t take on debt in the first place? Are they just screwed? Doesn’t seem fair to reward the irresponsible and punish the responsible. And does this mean mortgages will be cancelled too? Are people going to get free houses out of this? Also seems unfair to all the renters, especially if the people who were given their houses for free now have a nest egg in their house of a quarter million dollars to cash out on without having to even pay for it in the first place. It’s like the irresponsible win the lottery and the responsible get nothing.
