Nope. The White House doesn't have an auditorium. There's a small auditorium in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB).
From the article - "The set was constructed across the street from the actual WH in the Executive Office Building."
The WH Communications Office & Press Secretary's Office are both located in the Executive building, so it is reasonable there would be a briefing room there. The WH has several briefing rooms in various buildings & has used such rooms for over half a century, this is nothing new.
A briefing room is nothing like an auditorium. I've been given a "private" tour of the WH by my nephew when he was a USSS agent during the Bush II administration. There's a lot of rooms including a Chocolate Room, Flower Room, Solarium, Theater, Bowling Alley, Map Room, Situation Room, etc. There is no auditorium.
