Perhaps this was leverage part of the $3.5 trillion appropriations bill - deal McConnell caved to? Coincidence in the timing!

McConnell; 'Drop the 1/6 commission and let the political prisoners go free.'

Pelosi; 'And you'll get the Senators on board for the $3.5 trillion?'

McConnell; 'They'll vote accordingly...'

Pelosi; 'Do we have a deal?'

McConnell; 'For now, Nancy, try not to find anymore arrows in your quiver between now and Dec 8th... Merry Christmas, Nancy...'
