You make an interesting observation.

I do find it interesting that Pelosi, being a Catholic, has chosen not to wear a veil as is protocol, I believe.

But regarding OP's supposition: First of all, women are not Masons.

Secondly, there is probably more messaging in the white/black contrast and Pelosi's single-button blazer.... or even their eyes pointing in different directions, than in the awkward handshake.
