D-dimer test is the only way to detect micro clots, of the type that plug up your capillaries and slowly kill your organs. Micro clots are too small to detect with the usual scans. The spike protein gets attached to blood vessel walls, causes damage to passing blood cells, in turn causing clots, including micro clots.
