For a very long time, I've noticed the undertones of "be prepared" (for some, obviously not all) are more like "I hope collapse happens"? I find myself wanting that somewhat...a societal reset...but why? Do we think that is the only way? Am I off-base here?
What do you think?
Collapse for the sake of collapse is not what we want, though... is it? I don't think that's what you are saying. For me (and maybe this is what you're getting at) collapse is a necessary part of the process, and in that process the bad guys are rounded up and purged--and that is the real hope we all have. It is also a passive way of saying that we want to be validated (as FreedomfighterNY said), but we also have been hurt deep down by all the corruption so we have a desire for revenge. I believe that our challenge is to find the balance between exacting justice and being compassionate. I do not want a society that is ruthlessly Christian, if you follow what I am saying.
