Vitamin C (between 500 - 1500 for the 12 yr. old, for the 3 year old, 250 - 750), E, D...make sure they are drinking plenty of fluids (water, primarily, but juices will help too) . There is a reason as well chicken soup is considered "grandma's cold and flu remedy" : The vitamins and minerals (especially if you cook bones in the broth as long as can) help the healing process, as does the protein in the chicken. (also, Tweety51A and DragonBallz may actually have better knowledge than I do -my children don't get sick very often)
