Don't mean to be a debbie downer, but I don't trust any CIA whether former or not. Also, this kinda has the "trust me bro" sort of credibility. I hope that I'm wrong but just trying to keep us grounded in reality.
Nobody I’ve talked to knows him personally so I can’t speak to his character, but I’d like to think he just pivoted in the wrong direction. He’s a freshman congressman so obviously there’s a learning curve and deep down I do understand how someone can think red flag laws would help. Logically it should but corruption gets in the way and maybe he just hasn’t gotten that rude awakening.
My IL rep also voted for that bill with red flag - when questioned he said the entire bill had some real good parts and the senate had already taken out that red flag part. I hope that is the case.
