Just because it's approved doesn't mean it's available. I think they are still exclusively providing the vaccine under the emergency authorization. I haven't seen any evidence that comirnaty is available.
Of course they won't release the approved version anytime soon because it would first make them stop making J&J and Moderna, but second it would get rid of their "no liability" status.

And they couldn't continue to experiment with younger populations as much IIRC

That's been the assumption. I'm not a lawyer and am not well versed in fda approvals.
I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't release the approved version in order to hide behind the emergency authorization.
