Aspirin makes platelets less sticky, reducing propensity to aggregate and form blood clots.

No microclots in the capilaries surrounding the alveoli, no hypoxia and therefore, no "need" for mechanical ventilation (which doesn't help anyway, as the problem is on the circulation side and not the airway side).

Stay well hydrated. Dehydration makes blood more viscous and prone to clotting.
