Started with a solar batteries panels generator set that up last year, with a small wind mill for a little extra unfortunately after testing it a lot this year for lights, refrigerator, freezer etc. household load I found it is limited to support any type of heating (furnace) even for the bare minimum or hot water (greenies hear me, you can argue all you want solar/wind they are not there probably won’t be for decades. By then it will be very old tech.) unless you want to spend thousands of $$$ now I don’t so I’ve also added a dual fuel propane/gas generator. I wanted to add a wood coal stove hubby won’t do it, afraid of a flue fire so that’s a no go. Suggest extra water, as much as you can store. Hydroponics for food production, and I’m going to set up a rain harvesting system, if there’s time lol yea I have gone down the prep for SHTF for sure. 😂
