Russia adapted to shock therapy capitalism real quick. Germany went from transsexual depraved bankrupt wasteland to Idyllic paradise from 1932-35 it is not all doom and gloom. Those are historical examples with tech these days information spreads like lighting. The process will be quicker.

To a degree, yes. The human mind is capable of being manipulated and programmed, true. It is also capable of amazing self repair. Even a tattered, torn soul can be restored.

Writing people off, such as the KGB does, is only to one's own profit and is despicable and heartless.

I'm not saying all can be saved, but not trying is ... Unthinkable.
