You're going to struggle with email if you don't have a good grasp of DNS. If DNS isn't right you will be blocked by pretty much everything. If you manage to create an open relay your domain will be blacklisted pretty quick too, so be careful. That tool will give you what you need.
Whoever you got your IP address from controls the dns for the ptr zone. Ask them. There may or may not be fireworks when you tell them you're setting up an email server.

Pointer record IP > name for the banner you can create a cname that matches the banner and add that to the ptr.

From the context I’m assuming you’re trying to set up a mail server? I self hosted my own email server a few months back using mail-in-a-box.
Maybe taking a peak at their code might help.
