I would caution that when trying any methods to lower BP, that you track your BP very closely. I kick myself to this day because of my mother's death. She was 81. I carry a certain amount of guilt because in January '18 I took her for her 6 month dr appointment and the dr told her she was doing fantastic. She had lost weight, BP was perfect, she got an A+++ on her health. I failed to ask the dr if we could lower her BP med dose. She died in her sleep March 25, '18. It's only speculation but, I feel that my lack of asking about her dosage could have led her to a low BP event while she slept. It haunts me daily. What if? Please be careful and monitor frequently.
I can totally sympathize as I always feel like if I'd done something different my mom would have never had that 2nd stroke that killed her. But you need to let that go. Your mom would be the last person wanting you to feel that way.
I let it go after it happened. But every now and then, it runs through my head and I get depressed. I have to remember that I'm not perfect, and I'm definitely not a doctor. So as long as I get that through my head that it's not my fault, I'll be ok. Thank you! Sorry for your loss. I'm so glad I had 50 years with my best friend, Mom.
