The response they have for this is pretty simple, they just say that it's not about keeping you from getting COVID, it's about limiting the spray of spit droplets from each persons mouth. None of the articles mention that, and they've thought around it.
Actually I think at least one of them did. It's been about a month since I went through the PDF but there is at least one article that talked about this.
