How do you get to verify your transfusion won't give you the spikies?

I see this issue as a big, potential problem for pregnant women, many of whom have to deliver in a hospital for medical reasons (high risk pregnancies, for example, more than one baby or pregnancy induced hypertension, preeclampsia). Blood loss is expected, 200ml to 500ml is normal. Anything over that, well, a blood transfusion may be necessary to save that mother’s life. How do you choose between not wanting the possible vaccinated blood and living to protect your newborn?
I know someone suggested donating their own blood, but this is not really an option in pregnancy as the mother needs her own blood to transport oxygen and nutrients to their developing child.
