Diamond hands….and all the apes who own GME are directly registering their shares of GameStop in order to stop the illegal floats of shares…hedge funds “borrowing” shares from different brokers to buy or short.
Once a stock is registered in an owner’s name, it leaves the brokerage firm, thus decreasing the amount of shares available for the float…and increasing the price if a hedge fund needs to buy shares to cover a position.
If enough shares are removed from the system, the stock price must go higher as the supply decreases, demand (and price ) increases.
I'm fairly new at this GME and AMC game and don't know much about stocks. I've bought and I'm holding to the moon. Serious question, I have mine with TD Ameritrade. What happens if I don't go to computer share or direct register? Will I still be able to collect or will I lose all my investments? I hear so many different opinions. I'd really appreciate a little advice.
I don’t have a lot either (fewer than my fingers) but I took half and did DRS and the other half w vanguard... have you seen the boards w some instructions for registering?
The theory is DRS at least half of what you have and keep some for trading....as the process “to the moon” won’t be just a day or two, it may be a few weeks run up.
Great advice. Thank you so much. I'll definitely look this over. I'm glad to know the squeeze will take a while. I was worried it would happen all in one day and I'd miss it while trying to DRS. I'm a newbie ( been holding since Feb.) but willing to hold as long as it takes! Thanks again fren.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if this works? It’s a really interesting concept. Have you seen this video I saw around Feb about the FTD (failure to deliver) very informative...FTD explanation
You can do that. People are being told by TDAmeritrade the process will take 2-4 weeks. To speed up the process people are transferring from TDA to Fidelity then transferring from Fidelity to ComputerShare. FINRA regulations state that TDA has 3 business days to get your shares to Fidelity. Going from Fidelity to ComputerShare is about another 3 days.

GME DRS
Do some searches for the how to from TD, vanguard streamlined the process but I’m still waiting for communication from Computershare.

Can you register the stock to your name if you buy through a broker like tdameritrade?
