I wonder what percentage of the worlds containers and ships are within US territorial waters?

I doubt that after being unloaded, these ships return to China with empty containers. So what is on the ships, in containers, on the return trip? Is it food? I’m not sure, I never looked into it. But whatever normally gets shipped back to China isn’t happening as much, so maybe that’s intentional?
