I don't get the logic of why this case is sus or why on earth they'd fake a guy killing is girlfriend. Anyone who follows the true crime genre can tell you why this case blew up and got headlines. Primarily, because they were YouTubers and there was shitloads of footage of them on this doomed road trip. And then more YouTubers, by some miracle, caught the van on camera when he was likely burying the body. Leading to the answer of where this missing girl was. Not the cops, not the FBI, but the internet solved this shit.
As to OP, animals and hot weather could do that in a month.
