She was admitted to the ICU tonight with covid and bacterial pneumonia in her lungs. They are going to try regeneron and they have her on a ventilator. Her oxygen went up from 70 to 80 after going on the vent. Please say a prayer for her and give her strength. She is the nicest lady in the world!
Edit: Prayer works! Her oxygen level is up to 93 this afternoon and she has improved kidney function! The steroids and antibiotics appear to be working and helping her pneumonia. Thank you all for the prayers. She's not out of the woods yet, but making improvements.
It's not regular pneumonia. It shouldn't even be called "COVID pneumonia" because the word pneumonia is a misnomer. What patients hospitalized with COVID are experiencing is a silent hypoxia that is a result of massive inflammation and microclotting in the blood from unchecked viral replication.
This is not how pneumonia as we have always known it, behaves. It's clear you don't have personal experience with any loved ones who were hospitalized with COVID and that's ok. I thought as you did that there may not even be a unique illness until a family member was hospitalized. Pneumonia does not cause a D dimer test to come back at levels as high as 6,000. That is what is happening with COVID patients and in my opinion with all the confusion happening right now it is really not helpful for people to make false claims that a unique illness does not exist. Maybe it isn't a viral infection. Maybe it is a parasitic infection. I'm not making claims I don't know about exactly what COVID is or how they are getting it into our bodies to make people sick but I am claiming that there is something that is causing some people to become extremely ill in a unique way that does not resemble traditional flue or pneumonia in advanced stages of the illness.
For OP: I recommend you print for yourself and become an expert available for consult and then have your father in law print the hospital protocol from covid19criticalcare.com/protocols
Advise him to make requests that her doctors are likely to approve such as:
Use Methylprednisolone instead of their default Dexamethasone (same drug class but superior performance in clinical studies so doctors should be fine making the swap)
High dose vitamins- everything on the protocol list. Most are water soluble and considered benign treatments. Say she was taking them at home and needs to continue with them if necessary. They should get approved. The only one we had difficulty getting was the thiamine (B1) but doctor eventually prescribed that when I pushed.
For the Ivermectin, if he or another loved one can make her a green smoothie or similar food item and deliver to her every morning that will certainly help her out. Ivermectin treats both viral replication in early stage of the virus as well as inflammation in later stages.
Most hospitals still will not agree to administer Ivermectin and if you ask they will be suspicious of you and may more proactively block you from bringing food (they won't want you to bring food either way but in my experience you just have to persist and insist that she needs the nutrients in the plants in her smoothie to heal and they'll deliver it). So...in the interest of having her come home alive I'd say compromise on this one and smuggle the Ivermectin in instead of asking for it. NAC is a great one to add to the smoothie as well or whatever food you end up putting the Ivermectin in for her.
If your FIL is too overwhelmed or not the right personality type to advocate for his wife when he's under a lot of stress, try to find another family member (maybe even you) who can be listed as point of contact with the hospital and who can commit to calling twice a day to speak with each nurse as well as being available to discuss patient status with doctor. In our case I was family point of contact even though my mother retained legal decision making status so this is something that can be done.
Wishing your MIL a speedy recovery and excellent care.
Great comment. I too thought this was the normal flu mistaken and blamed on Covid until myself and my family got it. Ivermectin cured us. What I don't understand is what has happened to the normal flu, seems like everyone is getting this new Covid when sick now? And how is it entering our bodies, when people like myself never get a flu, but got this. Took all the immune building vitamins and had blood tests to prove my vit levels were high.
I preface again by saying "I don't know."
I find it odd that I went from knowing no one who was sick for the entire year plus pandemic to knowing about 10 people who were sick with COVID in my community simultaneously plus presumably many that I do not know also sick judging by the spikes emergency medical activity in my neighborhood. With the flu it is not uncommon for a few people to be sick at once but those illnesses have historically seemed to move from one family to the next or within households over a period of days and weeks. When COVID hit hard here it was everyone sick all at once and I couldn't help but wonder if it was a targeted bio attack to our community using a chem trail type infection method or similar.
Who knows...maybe they use chem trails or other means to deliver the regular flu to us every year also. If that is the case it could he one explanation for why the regular flu disappeared last year. I wish I knew. Confusion is one of their weapons they use against us.
