I just went through the same thing with my kids we live in California I took them to the doctor the doctor did not make them take a covid test. The doctor agreed that it was a common cold The school gave me 2 options keep them home for 10 days or get them covid tested as if they know more than the Doctor. The doctor gave them an antibiotic and a note for 3 days they had to sit out an extra 7 days I refused the covid test.
