I remember many years ago (before GoFundMe existed), a young mother of a little girl was out hiking a popular trail near her neighborhood in California and was attacked and killed by a mountain lion. Game and Fish officers tracked the animal down and shot it, only to later find that it had a cub in a nearby den, which was now orphaned. Somebody set up a donation account for the now orphaned little girl, and an animal rights group set up a donation account for the baby mountain lion. Within days, the account for the baby mountain lion had received millions of dollars in individual small donations, while the account for the little girl had barely a few thousand.
There's something wrong with people that can have their priorities so messed up.
