Kate Steinle's killer was an illegal immigrant who pointed a gun at her and shot her in the back while she was enjoying a walk around the waterfront of SF.

And found not guilty, because the preciousness of invaders who kill citizens apparently supersedes all laws. So this woman is not the first to give killers a pass just because they are sufficiently trump-hating to be elevated beyond the level of mere humans.
