Going to sound strange but I think we should be praying for mercy for our enemies...
✝️ Scripture 🕊️
God will win and His might is beyond what we can imagine. Those that are the enemy of God will suffer enormous loss. Pray for God to have mercy on even those that are against Him.
Remember we were all against Him before He came looking for us and found us.
Like I said grace, mercy, love and forgiveness does not negate justice. Yes, we must hear the Word and then choose to believe the Word...that is our part. If I extend my hand with a gift for you, you have the choice to accept or reject. It does not affect the fact that I am offering you a gift and so it is with God.
What seperates us from God is sin and Jesus became the lamb who was sacrificed for us, who took our sin as His own and paid the penalty for us. That is grace...giving us something we don't deserve or unmerited favor. God's mercy allows God to forgive us though the perfect blood sacrifice of His son.. .He is not giving us what we deserve according to His perfect justice...death. So because of His love and mercy He provides grace, becoming sin for us...available to all freely and equally...the outstretched hand with a gift.
Remember we are talking about the perfect love, grace and mercy of God, which knows no bounds. Forgiveness is also freely given UPON accepting God's gift. Don't forget that in accepting Christ as our personal Savior only means that God counts us as sinless or righteous because of the blood of the lamb, which became sin for us. "We love Him because He first loved us" The focus is totally on the nature of God, who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Yes I know all of that. I’ve been a Christian for many years, and I’ve read the Bible several times myself, and I’m reading through it right now.
The fact of the matter is you’re forgetting to discuss that God hates sin, he hates evil. Without the covering of Christ’s blood, people will not be receiving mercy at the judgment seat. That’s the point I’m trying to make.
Mercy is not for everyone! Unfortunately, but that’s a fact. As much as God loves us unconditionally, and has giving Christ as appreciation for our sins, on judgment day without Christ blood covering us, and covering our sins, mercy will not be had by those people.
I understand what you are saying. You said "mercy is not for everyone" but that is different than saying " not everyone accepts God's mercy" I contend that God's mercy is for everyone...He really would love for Soros, Clinton etc to repent and accept the "gift" of God's salvation. Nonetheless we may disagree on semantics but we agree on the love of God and salvation through Christ. That is what's important.
Yes we agree 100% that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that through that sacrifice we have access to the holy of holy’s. God bless you and have a great day
