Oh shit they covered the feathers in feces back when they did this?

I didn’t know that.

I probably should do some research because I thought it was to shame someone but hot tar and shit covered feathers sounds like possible death.

Everytime I've been around live chickens, they were always covered with some degree of shit.

The good old punishments didn't care too much about whether or not the guilty lived afterwards.

I was pretty naive to not assume this.

They probably took bets on if the guilty would survive. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.
