You can't actually feel your brain. During some brain surgeries the patient can actually remain awake. And it isn't touching your brain, it's pushing against your sinus wall which is pushing against the amygdala.
The brain can feel some things. Otherwise strokes wouldn't cause massive headaches.
No, the brain tissue itself has no sensory neurons, so you can do brain surgery on conscious patients without anaesthetizing the brain. They need anaesthesia for the cutting into the skull bone.
You can slice your finger open with a sharp enough knife and not realize it until trying to do something pushes the wound open and shoves debris into it.
The brain is not particularly innervated with sensory neurons, but it does have some and when it aches, we should listen to it and not ignore it.
