I agree with the article's author. People put too much stock in the looney shit people say. Free speech is free speech. That being said, there are consequences when exercising that right. Just like there may be consequences for exercising other rights. It's also the employer's right to decide whether or not they want to be associated with certain behaviors. And she said it publicly, with her job title plastered all over social media. I bet she was gonna cost the school hundreds of thousands in tution, room and board, book/lab fees, partnerships, etc. At the end of the day, it's the employers right to decide if the employee in question is worth the cost. Isn't Texas a "Right to Work" State, as well? Meaning, the employer and employee have the right to begin or end employment at any time, for any reason, or no reason at all.

Well stated opinion, thanks for posting....
No.
When reactions to words or violations to law are even among all groups/cultures/financial statues i would agree.
As of now, he just did have the right boxed checked to say what he said.
This is a public service announcement
With guitar
Know your rights
All three of them
Number one
You have the right not to be killed
Murder Is a crime!
Unless it was done
By a policeman or an aristocrat
Know your rights
And number two
You have the right to food money
Providing of course
You don't mind a little
Investigation, humiliation
And if you cross your fingers
Rehabilitation
Know your rights
These are your rights
Hey, say what, hey
Know these rights
Number three
You have the right to free speech
As long as you're not
Dumb enough to actually try it
Know your rights
These are your rights
Know your rights
These are your rights
All three of 'em
And it has been suggested
In some quarters that this is not enough
Well
Get off the streets
Get off the streets
Run
