Oh, sorry! That is a regional term for those from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan,
U. P. ...Yooper! They do seem to have their own variations on English. Sometimes it sort of bleeds over into northern Wisconsin, too..
although I've lived in southern Minnesota too, and one could make a case for this "hey, der" and " you betcha" coming from there, too!
