The Constitution enters the chat.
Clause 2 Electors Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
Here you go. I think this is what you want. I clicked the 'View replies' button on the OP and it took me to the X post:
Yeah.....
I think there was a coin toss (or something similar) and Trump won. He chose to go last and his opponent got the short podium she has specially built so she wouldn't look like a mouse. I heard Muir announce this at the start. He said "chose the podium she would use". He didn't say 'mouse'.
I think having the last word at a debate is a definite advantage.
It doesn't look like it's settled yet. This article is from August 24, the latest I found: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cirb-decision-railway-dispute-1.7304194
Freight trains must start rolling again first thing Monday morning, the federal labour board ruled on Saturday as it ordered thousands of rail employees back to work to end a bitter contract dispute that shut down the country's two major railways.
The decision by the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) imposes binding arbitration on the parties following an unprecedented dual work stoppage at Canadian National Railway (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) that halted freight shipments and snarled commutes across the country.
But the matter may not be settled for good, since the Teamsters union representing workers with both companies is pledging to appeal the ruling in court.
The board's decision dropped two days after federal Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon directed the arm's-length tribunal on Thursday afternoon to begin the arbitration process, stating that the parties were at an impasse and Canadian businesses and trade relationships were at stake.
The union representing the 9,300 affected workers challenged the government's move, but the board on Saturday said the tribunal had no authority to decide whether the minister's directive was valid.
Sales taxes have been imposed by states but not the federal government. The first sales tax was enacted in West Virginia in 1921. Eleven other states followed suit in 1933. Eighteen more states had a sales tax in place by 1940. Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon are the only states without a sales tax as of July 2024. Tax Foundation.
