This story is probably put out to stain the image of gitmo because some important people suspect that this is where they are headed.

His "torture" wasn't at the hands of the GITMO guards. The shit he's detailing happened outside of U.S. jurisdiction. His testimony is of what happened before the extreme rendition program was ended right before Bush left office.
