Sorry to burst any patriotic bubble you think the military exist in but so did the Red Army and yet they executed millions of their own citizens on the say so of their Marxist overlords. Did they all believe deeply in Marxism? No! They were good soldiers doing as good soldiers do - carrying out orders. Same with the Wehrmacht, same with the PLA, same with absolutely ANY AND EVERY Military throughout history who has committed atrocities against their own people at the behest of their commanders.

Don’t be complacent in thinking that history is only what happens to other nations.

The UK invented concentration camps don’t forget and routed and killed highlanders, banned their whole culture and shipped people off to exile. Look up Bloody Sunday where the British Army slaughtered its own citizens in Northern Ireland.

The US branches of government and military clearly abuse the citizenry already and have done for decades.

Don’t underestimate the willingness of soldiers to soldier.
